Meet our new Vice Principal – Jane Woolley

During my teaching career I have worked in a number of schools with different characteristics, but what I have always found inspiring are the talented young people and staff I have had the privilege to work with.

My experience has included working with students in both a pastoral and academic capacity. As Head of House I enjoyed both the family and competitive aspects of working with students. Supporting students academically has been my focus in recent years. This has involved working with students individually and on a whole school level through developing teaching and learning, as well as curriculum.

Throughout my teaching career I have taught ICT / Computer Science as a discrete subject. I have also taken a lead role in developing the use of ICT by everyone in the school community. When used appropriately, ICT has a positive impact on student experience.

I believe that to help students reach their potential we need to capture their attention through a strong programme of teaching and learning, assessment and pastoral care; supported by a curriculum that meets the needs of their aspirations for the future.

I am looking forward to working with everyone at Alde Valley Academy and our supporting community.
