This week saw the school’s production of West End musical “Hairspray”. Months of rehearsals came to fruition on the 3rd, 4th and 5th March at Leiston Film Theatre in three sell out nights.
The audience was amazed by the talents of our Year 7-13 pupils, and a couple of surprise cameo roles from teachers, as the 1960 story based in Baltimore was retold in an explosion of colour and song.
The show was directed by Donna Goodwin, Head of Performing Arts, and musically directed by Julie Medler and Ben Scarce, and choreographed by Becky Smith and Hannah Merrett.
The school was wowed by the local community who showed their support, making this return visit by the school to the local theatre a huge success. Students and audience are now excited about the prospect of the next Alde Valley Academy production.
