Visit to Manchester Velodrome

In April a group of our year 11 gifted and talented students had the opportunity to experience riding the Manchester Velodrome. The track costing £9 million and built for the Commonwealth Games is the home of British Cycling and famous names such as Chris Hoy and Victoria Pendleton. The 12 students had the track to themselves for the whole coaching session and riding top class bikes performed fantastically well recording their own times for the 250m sprint. This is the third visit the school has made to the National Cycling Centre and we look forward to forthcoming trips to the London Olympic site where again students will get the opportunity to experience world class facilities.
